Let's wake up happy in 2013

Happy Last Day of 2012!

I find it strange that people refer to this day as "New Year's Eve" after I thought about how we should be celebrating the end of 2012 instead of regarding this day as the day before 2013, if you know what I mean. So let's do the cliche and cheesy recollection of 2012 like everyone else does :D

To-do list #16: Ikea outing

Had an extremely pretty but lousy breakfast that is the cake you see below. It looks like an ornament on a Christmas tree right?!!!

Then I went to Ikea, then Tiong to watch Les Miserables today. I had such a great time and I'm so glad I didn't spend today holing up in my room and doing research :) Bought useful things for once and I'm going to tell you guys about them soon but not today because they are not quite ready to be shown yet!

A trip to Ikea also made me want to have my own cosy apartment so bad!

When I think about what 2012 was like to me, I have to struggle a bit. It's not usually the case; I can tell you straight up that 2011 was half horrible and half amazing. But 2012... Everyday it has been a mix of horror and happiness for me. There are things that I have that never fails to make me smile and feel grateful, though those things sometimes bite too; but there are also things that I wish I had the will to change. Notice I said will, not power. I have realised that I do have the power to change things if I wanted to, but I won't.

But all in all, 2012 is a year that many nice things happened to me, and I also went through a lot of new experiences. I got to know the people around me a little more, I got to know certain corners of Singapore a little more, and I got to know myself a little more.

2012 was a great year filled with pleasant surprises and not so pleasant challenges which I may have not overcome, but I believe that when I wake up tomorrow, happy and fresh, I will be charged again to face those challenges and continue to live my happiness because I deserve to.

And all I hope is that in 2013, I will regain that will to change things. To change me.
