Headcounts, water parades and convenience stores

Second time to Taiwan, and this time I went with jh dance! If you recall, I became absolutely obsessed with Taiwan (mostly just the shopping and the food) after the first trip but this time it was rather different since we were flying to Taiwan for the Global Dance Summit at Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA). I would say it was a really enriching experience and I learnt a lot of things; and I also had lots of good food even though I didn't have any of the roadside snacks which I had the last time I went. The one thing I regret was not getting the sun cakes from Jiufen though... Sobz it will remain a regret until I go there again :'(

Anyway I made a lot of friends during this trip and I was glad that I was roomed with these two crazy and immature kids:

Apart from banning me from skype, they were really nice room/group mates and I also got to know them better :) I have since learnt that J is not very weird after all but she has temperamental issues hehehehe

Nonetheless we still had lotsa fun together as a group :)

THIS. WAS. THE. BOMB.

This photo was taken from the bus when Enxian and I spotted a plane floating in the air - IT WAS NOT MOVING. I'm being absolutely serious here! I'll google "floating planes" after I'm done with this post

I guess I valued the master classes that taught me skills the most because I found them applicable in the long term. We also attended lectures about dance vs tradition/tourism/technology etc and S actually sparked a debate in one of the lectures! It was really interesting to learn about opinions across different countries and I realised that different cultures really do shape these opinions... And I also came up with the logic that the Singaporean culture is having no culture! Okay maybe someone else has already said that but I was very proud of myself when I thought of it :)

Yup and I really hope to have this experience again :)
